Everything you find on this site is non-profit, and was done for free as a result of dedication. We thank everyone sincerely for their contributions, support, and time. If you’re interested in becoming one of these people — whether it’s for one project or many projects — don’t be shy! We don’t bite [often enough].

AFFILIATE / JOINT?

If what you’re looking for is an affiliation with our site (a link on our page plus a mention), please drop a comment here and the coordinator will get back to you soon. If you’re interested in having your group combine with ours, or in working together with us for some projects, also drop us a line here.

JOIN?

Currently we’re accepting people of all positions, realistic or not. We’re especially in need of editors (cleaners mainly, but typesetters wouldn’t be a bad thought either). The basic job breakdown is as follows. If you want to help and have an idea of what you can do, but it isn’t listed, also contact us in the form of a comment here. Exact details will be discussed with the project coordinator.

–> Editors:

Requirements: CLEANERS, YOU MUST HAVE A PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS LAYERS. We don’t care what it’s called or what edition it is, but you just must be able to work in layers and save it all in either .psd or .xcf format. Do not touch the original RAW image either. TYPESETTERS, you must have some Photoshop program, whether it’s CS2/3/whatever or just plain old Photoshop. It must be able to support .psds.

- Cleaners: At the moment, this is our most-wanted job. As you can see by our ambitious future projects list, we’ve got a whole lot of releases planned out for the future. The problem is that we’re a bit lacking in the editing department’s manpower. We’d love to have extra people who are willing to help us out. This job may include any of the following: straightening pages, levelling pages, recucing or removing a gutter shadow (no cropping please), removing scan dust, redrawing, and more. The good news is that depsite this large job, you do have people who can help you out with some of the more difficult pages, and you don’t have to typeset it all either!

- Typesetters: Your job is to just fill in the text. It’s a bit more complicated than it sounds, but not too bad. Specific fonts or sizes and the like will be discussed when you apply. Whenever you finish the project, send it back to the coordinator who will then give everything a quality check.

–> Proofreaders:

Requirements: Have some edition of MIcrosoft Word. When you proofread, if you find yourself needing to make any major alterations to a line, instead recopy the line beneath the original in a different colour.

You must be fluent in English. It would help if you find yourself being referred to as a grammar freak or a perfectionist (we won’t penalize you if you’re not, haha), or if you are a person who is able to sense the mood of a script and go with the flow.

–> Scripters:

A scripter is basically a person who goes through the preliminary RAW, taking what’s written there and rewritting it on some sort of word document. What you’re writing is the Japanese script, essentially: katakana, hiragana, kanji, et cetera. Thus, it is required that you are very fluent in Japanese and don’t mind squinting at some handwritten characters.

–> Translators:

Requirements: You are fluent in Japanese or Chinese, but are also able to get your message across somewhat understandably in English. (Please also stay in communication with the coordinator and don’t be absolutely reclusive.)

Other than those things, your job doesn’t require much explanation. All we ask of you is that you translate the material in a somewhat reasonable amount of time (not a year please) and please do let us know if you lose interest in a project and wish to drop it. Translate into Microsoft Word, please, and if possible, add any lines you are uncertain about from the RAW.

–> Website Design:

Yes, our coordinator does try to keep things from looking too ugly, but sometimes she could use a hand with things. If you can design pretty graphics for us, we’d love you forever, or if you made suggestions to help things run more smoothly (and checked up with us every now and then), that’d be great!

 –> OTHER: YOU TELL US!

  2. I love Oofuri so much, and I also love drawing! If you have space for someone to make some banners for your site and such, I would have no problem with that! If you just give me what size you want the banner or anything, I’d be happy to draw it on!

  15. Hi~ =] I know I’m quite late in the game and this site has been dormant for more than a year already, but I just wanted to inquire – I’ve actually attempted to translate (my first translation, as it happens) “Ano koro, shinkou no you na koi wo shiteita”, which is on the future projects list. I’ve completed the translation, but I’m not sure of a number of lines, and I can’t find many other sites working on Oofuri doujinshi, so I thought maybe here would be a good place to find proofreaders/editors/etc… =X The RAWs, I downloaded from http://oofuri-djs.livejournal.com/1414.html . Please let me know what you think my course of action should be. Thanks! [Hope someone's still around this site to reply... =S ]
